Carcast #1 - Tools for development of rich Internet applications

    posted Wednesday, 6 June 2007

This is my first attempt to podcast. I did this recording while driving the car. After riding a bus for several years, I'll have to drive the car  to my current client for a while. To minimize waste of time I've been listening to other people's podcasts for a while, and now I decided to record my own.  If you hear a clicking sound somewhere on the background, this means that I'm either changing lanes or making turns.

The first podcast is about your software choices for developing rich Internet applications. These are some relevant links:

    RIA: State of the Union

    RAD components for Flex/Java development

If this podcast will be well received, I'll  continue recordings and will consider recording my conversations with other people who have/want something to say on enterprise software related subjects.

Here's the MP3 file of the podcast  (it's about 30Mb and 30 min long). Any feedback is greatly appreciated, especially if it made your commute a little better.

Yakov, I'm happy that you podcast, but sad to know that instead to pay attention to traffic you recorded the podcast while driving. Some other dirver could make a mistake and you could not avoid it. I don't want you to have an accident, please record the next ones when you are not driving. Thanks.

    Alex,

A day has only 24 hours. The only time I have for blogging/podcasting is during my commute. Recording does not affect my driving - I just wear the headphones with a mike, and talk as every other driver that talks on hands-free cell phone. I do not edit podcast - it is what it is - unedited raw recording.

    Yakov,

    • I heard your 3 carcasts, I appreciate that you took a step where you can help a lot to commuters by saving their time by learning something good.

    • I have something to add your list of postal mess; I suffered a lot due to USPS. My friend posted me 2 GAP gift cards costing 100 USD with a tracking on it. The packet never arrived, online it reflects that it reached the local post office and they have no further info. I went to post office, called them several times but all leading to wastage of time. I tracked the cards and got to know that they are already used. I had no add on insurance. I am still looking forward to track down the mess and get back my money at least. It's tough but i can't let it go as its a USPS fault. I also advise to have an insurance with your packet to save you from further problems.
